About this project
This Final Major Project explores layered identity, emotion and visual storytelling through a series of expressive mixed media works. Combining bold colour, raw mark making and symbolic imagery such as skulls, eyes and anatomical forms, the project reflects themes of vulnerability, perception, and inner experience. The collection is presented as both individual pieces and a larger installation, allowing the work to exist as a cohesive visual language while still maintaining the intensity of each artwork.

inspiration & process
The project was inspired by a desire to create visually striking work that feels both chaotic and controlled, drawing on influences from street art, collage and expressive painting. I worked intuitively, layering paint, pouring inks and drawn elements to build texture and depth, often allowing marks to overlap and interact naturally. The repeated use of symbols like eyes and skulls developed throughout the process, becoming a way to explore themes of observation, identity and emotion. The final outcome reflects an experimental approach where composition and meaning evolved organically through making.
