About this project
This project centres around the development of a research journal as part of my Research Studies module, documenting the ideas, influences, and processes that inform my wider artistic practice. Through a combination of visual experimentation, written reflection, and collected references, the journal acts as both a working space and an archive of my creative thinking. It brings together observations from my studio work, contextual research into artists and themes, and ongoing exploration of materials, colour, and composition. Rather than presenting a finished outcome, this project focuses on the process of enquiry itself highlighting how ideas evolve over time and how research directly shapes my practical work.

inspiration & process
This project also marked my first experience using Adobe InDesign, which became a key part of both the creative and reflective process. Learning to design and structure my journal digitally pushed me beyond my usual ways of working, encouraging me to think more carefully about layout, composition, and how visual and written elements interact. As I developed confidence with the software, I was able to present my research in a more considered and professional way, strengthening the overall outcome of the project. This experience has expanded my creative skill set and opened up new possibilities for how I can present and develop my work in the future, giving me a broader range of opportunities within my practice.
