This project is inspired by the visual language of urban environments, exploring how street based expression can be translated into a gallery context. Across the collection, ‘Concrete Voices’ reflects the identities and messages embedded within graffiti, often created anonymously in public spaces, and questions how meaning shifts when these marks are relocated. The process involved layering spray paint, acrylic and mixed media across multiple pieces to build depth and texture, echoing weathered city surfaces. Drips, gestural marks, text and tag-like elements were used throughout to capture the spontaneity of street art, while recurring motifs and colour choices help unify the series. The contrast between bold pink florals and darker, raw textures creates a tension between softness and grit, establishing a consistent visual language that connects each piece within the project.
